KSP Investigating Hit & Run Accident

(Henderson, Ky) - The Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division is currently investigating a two vehicle hit and run accident. The accident occurred on US 41 North near Ellis Park in Henderson County on Friday, August 29th 2014 at 11:45 A.M. The investigating officer with the help of a local Ford dealership successfully identified part numbers found on a piece of the vehicles headlamp. The dealership was able to determine that the headlamp was original equipment on 1995 to 1997 Mercury Mystique passenger cars. An eye witness reported that the car was blue and had 4 doors. The vehicle in question will be missing both headlamps and grill assembly, it was last seen traveling North on US41 into Indiana. The Kentucky State Police are requesting help from the public in identifying the driver, the vehicle, and the location of both. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
