(Morehead, KY) -- The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) is teaming up with TDS Restaurants/McDonald's of Richmond, KY to raise awareness on the proper installation of child safety seats. The event will take place on Tuesday, September 17 from 4-8 p.m. at 1001 Brandy Lane, located off of Exit 90 in Richmond, KY. At the event, several officers and safety seat technicians will be on hand to assist the parent or guardian in ensuring that their child's safety seat is installed properly.

Kentucky state law requires that any child less than 40 inches tall must be in a child and/or infant safety seat. The law also requires that any child under seven years of age and between 40 and 50 inches tall must be in a booster seat.

Statistics show that 7 out of 10 child safety seats are improperly installed.

April Marks, Marketing Director for TDS Restaurants/McDonald's says that McDonald's is very passionate about making sure children are properly secured in their safety seats. "In an effort to bring light to this very important subject, McDonald's will be offer Happy Meals for $1.99 during the hours that the safety seat event is taking place" says Marks.

Make sure to join KSP-CVE and McDonald's on September 17, 2013, between 4-8 p.m., at the Brandy Lane location in Richmond for this educational event.
