Shelby County Weigh Station on I-64

Date of News Release: 09/19/2013

(Georgetown, Ky.) -- Beginning September 16th, 2013 the Shelby County Weigh Station on I-64 Eastbound will be closed for an approximate period of (4) months for major repairs to the weigh station building. The building was built during the early 1960's and has deteriorated to the point that it was making for unsafe work conditions. The weigh station building will be demolished down to the concrete slab and reconstructed on the same foot-print. During this construction of the new scale facility building, there will be no work performed on the weigh scales, ramps, or pavement. A message board will be set up to notify truckers that the facility is currently closed. Safety barrels will also be placed on both entrance and exit ramps to prevent truck traffic from going through the facility.

Please contact Officer Brian Gilliam with Kentucky State Police C.V.E. Division of Region 3 for any questions regarding the construction of the Shelby County Weigh Facility. (502)370-6515.
