Commercial Vehicle Accident in London, KY

Date of News Release: 11/12/2012

(London, KY) -- On Monday November 12th 2012 around 3AM Officer Rob Mitchell with the Kentucky State Police-Vehicle Enforcement responded to a single vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle at the intersection of Alf Lane and Owens Rd in the City of London.

Upon arrival Mitchell determined that a 2007 Freightliner tractor trailer operated by 58 year old Martin Levine of Rock hill New York had got off route and was traveling down a small city street when he collided with power lines and a large tree causing his trailer to separate spilling over 31,000 lbs of merchandise and debris onto the road.

Alf lane and Owens road were closed for several hours while the electric company worked to restore power and clean up crews worked to clean the debris and merchandise from the roadway. No Drugs or alcohol is suspected and the driver was wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision.

Assisting on scene: Officers from KSP-Vehicle Enforcement, London City Police, and Kentucky Utilities.
