Injury Commercial Vehicle Collision in Laurel County

(London, KY) -- On Wednesday May 16th 2012 around 12 noon officer Duffy Sutton from the Kentucky State Police-Vehicle Enforcement responded to accident with injuries involving two commercial vehicles and one passenger car located on I-75 near the 50 mile marker in Laurel County Kentucky.

Upon arrival and through investigation officers found that 44 year old Marvin Kirby of Orlando Kentucky was operating a 1995 Mercury when he collided with 47 year old Mark D Collier Knoxville Tennessee who was operating a tractor trailer owned by Highway Transport out of Knoxville Tennessee. That impact forced Kirby into 49 year old George Hale of Rogersville Tennessee who was also operating a tractor trailer owned by Heniff Transportation Systems out of Alsip Illinois.

Kirby was air lifted from the scene and transported to the University Of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment of a possible leg fracture. Drugs and alcohol is not suspected factors in the collision and all parties are believed to be wearing their seat belts.

Assisting on scene: CVE Sgt Mike Taylor, CVE officers David Burton, Randy Rader. Laurel Co Sheriff's Department, Laurel Co Emergency Management and Ambulance Inc. Officer Duffy Sutton continues the investigation.
