KSP Asks Motorists to 'Leave More Space'

Date of News Release: 11/15/2012

(Frankfort, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) Division will be taking part in a two week Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks (TACT) campaign in an effort to reduce deadly and serious injury collisions on Kentucky Highways.

Starting Friday, November 16th officers will look for aggressive driving behaviors such as following too close; unsafe lane changes; speeding and not leaving enough space when passing large trucks.

Officers all across the state will be working extended shifts to allow for increased patrol for these violations. The campaign lasts through December 1st.

Citizens can contribute to highway safety by reporting erratic drivers to the Kentucky State Police toll-free at 1-800-222-5555. Callers will remain anonymous and should give a description of the vehicle, location, direction of travel and license number if possible.

For more information about this detail please contact Officer Brian Gilliam Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Division Region 3 (502) 370-6515.
