Lyon County man injured in collision

(Kuttawa, Ky) – On Sept. 14th 2012 at approximately 12:15 P.M. officers with the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division of the Kentucky State Police responded to an injury collision on U.S. 62 in Lyon County involving a commercial vehicle. A Tri-State Ideal lease box van operated by Mr. Harold L. Wilkinson (age 80) from Hazel, Kentucky was exiting from west bound Interstate 24 and was attempting to make a left turn onto U.S. 62. At which time the box van pulled in front of a 1988 Chevrolet pickup truck operated by Mr. Michael J. Gregory (age 55) of Princeton, Kentucky who was headed east bound on U.S. 62. Mr. Gregory sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Western Baptist Hospital by Lyon County E.M.S. The operator of the box van sustained no injuries. Officers were assisted at the scene by Lyon Co. Sheriff Kent Murphy, and Lyon Co. E.M.S.
