Commercial Vehicle Collision in Webster County

(Sebree, Ky) –- At approximately 3:03 p.m. on Thursday July 12, 2012 Lt. Kevin Rogers with the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement division of the Kentucky State Police was traveling South on the Pennyrile Parkway in the area of the 58 mile marker when he observed a commercial vehicle veer off the roadway, strike a guardrail, overturn, and catch fire. Lt. Kevin Rogers and a witness who had stopped were able to assist the driver with getting out of the vehicle. The commercial vehicle was driven by Mr. Robert C. Van Walker (age 68) from Chicago Heights, Illinois who was not injured during the collision. The collision is being investigated by Officer Andrew McGregor also with the C.V.E. division of K.S.P. The Pennyrile Parkway was closed for four to five hours while the commercial vehicle was removed from the scene. Lt. Kevin Rogers and Officer Andrew McGregor were assisted at the scene the Webster County Sheriff's Department, Webster County E.M.S, Sebree Fire & Rescue, Slaughters Fire Department, & the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet – Highway Department.
