I-64 Tractor Trailer Rollover

(Morehead, Ky.) -- At approximately 02:30 AM on September 13th 2011 Post 8 Morehead received a call of an overturned tractor trailer on Interstate 64 Westbound at mile marker 113. Montgomery County Sheriff Deputy and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Jessie Stewart arrived to discover a Class A commercial vehicle lying on the passenger side off the north shoulder of westbound I-64.
Tiltin L. Curry, 21, of Winder, Georgia was operating a 2006 Freightliner, under the authority of CRST Expedited Inc, with a load of glass from Vineland, NJ to Laredo, TX when he lost control of his vehicle and exited the north shoulder of the roadway and struck a guardrail. Upon attempting to regain control and maneuver the vehicle back onto the roadway the vehicle overturned onto the passenger side and came to rest just off the outside shoulder of the roadway.
There was no loss of cargo or fuel and the recovery of the vehicle was performed by Roberts Towing out of Lexington, KY. Assisting at the scene were members of the Montgomery County Sherriff's Office, Kentucky Department of Highways and Safe Patrol.
The right lane of Interstate 64 westbound was closed until 11:48 am with both lanes closed for a short period while the vehicle was up righted. During the full closure of both westbound lanes traffic was detoured off the 113 exit across US 60 and immediately back onto the Interstate at the 113 onramp.
The collision was investigated by the Montgomery County Sherriff's Department and a post crash inspection was performed by the Kentucky State Police Division Of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement.
