2012 T.A.C.T Enforcement Campaign Kick-Off for CVE Region 4
Date of News Release: 11/14/2011
(Williamsburg, Ky.) -- On November 17th 2011 The Kentucky State Police-Vehicle Enforcement would like to announce The Kick Off of the 2011-2012 Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks (T.A.C.T) Enforcement Campaign at The Kentucky Welcome Center on I-75 in Williamsburg Kentucky.
The T.A.C.T program is a national campaign administered through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and aimed to incorporate enforcement with education in an effort to reduce injuries and deaths involving commercial vehicle crashes on Kentucky highways.
Officers will be on hand distributing free safety decals to trucking companies as well as educational driving pamphlets to drivers of passenger cars, that will remind drivers to "Leave More Space" when maneuvering around large commercial vehicles.
During this campaign officers will focus on aggressive driving behavior such as following too close, unsafe lane changes, speeding and not leaving enough space when passing large trucks.
The T.A.C.T campaign will run though September 30th 2012 and will have enforcement activities scheduled each quarter in high crash corridors.
**This campaign is scheduled 10 A.M to 2 P.M**
(Media Ride-Along Are Available and will follow after the 11 AM News Conference)
