Commercial Vehicle Accident on I-75

((Mount Vernon, Ky.) -- On Wednesday November 8th 2011 around 10 PM Officer Mike Hamblin and Officer Rob Mitchell of The Kentucky State Police-Vehicle Enforcement responded to a single vehicle accident located on I-75 at the 67 mile marker in Rockcastle County Kentucky.

Upon arrival officers learned that a 2001 Freightliner tractor trailer owned by DHillon Freight of Canton Michigan, was traveling north on I-75 when the driver, 60 yr old Thomas Bruer of Taylor Michigan lost control running off the roadway and overturning.

The slow lane of travel was closed for several hours while crews worked to clean up the accident that contained nearly 32,000 lbs of air compressors. Drug and alcohol are not suspected, and Bruer was wearing his seat belt at the time of collision.

Assisting at the scene: Trooper Scotty Pennington, Mount Vernon Fire Department, and The Kentucky State Highway Department. Officer Hamblin continues the investigation.
