Traffic Crash with Injury in Pulaski County

(LONDON, KY.) - On Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at 7:50 AM the Kentucky State Police Division of Commercial Enforcement was notified of a single vehicle traffic crash, with injury, on KY 1675 in Pulaski County, KY.

Upon arrival KSP CVE Officer Duffy Sutton determined that a tan 2008 Dodge Caravan, operated by George W. McMackins, 40, of Somerset was northbound on KY 1675 when, for some unknown reason, it failed to negotiate a curve, exiting the highway and struck a tree.

McMackins, who was injured, was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and had to be extricated from the vehicle. It is believed the crash happen several hours prior to its discovery.

McMackins was transported to the Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center and then flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington for treatment.

No alcohol or drug involvement is suspected at this time.

Officer Sutton is continuing the investigation and was assisted at the scene by the Somerset/Pulaski County EMS, the Somerset/Pulaski County Rescue Squad and the Shopville/Stab Fire Department.
