Dangerous Hazardous Materials Arrest for DUI

(Shelby County, Ky.) -- On 12/19/2010 Officer Keith Armstrong with the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division of the Kentucky State Police made contact with a Commercial Vehicle Driver for a routine inspection. During the inspection of the Commercial Vehicle, which was hauling Hazardous Materials, Officer Armstrong observed indications that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages. Officer Armstrong also located an open container of an alcoholic beverage in the driver's area of the Commercial Vehicle. The driver was identified as Denise Lock of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Mrs. Lock was later arrested and transported to the Shelby County Detention Center where she was held under the following charges:
- Operating a Commercial Vehicle while Under the Influence of Alcohol.
- Possession of an Open Container of an Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle.
- Violation of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Officer Armstrong is a leader in Drunk Driving enforcement in the Commonwealth and his continued diligence is a testament to his drive to keep the roadways safe for the Motoring Public.
