Delinquent Taxes Lead To Truck Impoundment By KSP
Date of News Release: 07/26/2011
(Bardstown, Ky.) -– A locally owned company had their truck, trailer and load of sand impounded by Kentucky State Police Monday morning. A full safety inspection was performed by KSP during a traffic stop on a Marion County Concrete tractor trailer on KY 245 near the Templin Avenue intersection. The truck and trailer, driven by Terry Carney of Bardstown, was also placed out-of-service due to numerous safety violations.
During the course of the traffic stop, KSP determined that Marion County Concrete owed nearly $36,000 in delinquent fuel taxes. The company had repeatedly failed to file quarterly tax returns and was several months behind on a payment plan established by the Division of Motor Carriers in Frankfort due to earlier non-payment of taxes. The vehicle was towed and impounded by Suburban Towing of Louisville. The company also has an upcoming court date in Washington District Court for the same violations.
Marion County Concrete is owned by Jamie Hodges of Bardstown and Donnie Clark of Cox's Creek.
