Tractor Trailer Injury Collison in Lyon County

(Lyon County, Ky.) – Mr. Richard Davenport of Kuttawa had just turned east bound onto U.S. 62 from KY 810 and was attempting to drive clear of a previous collision scene on U.S. 62 in Suwanee. Mr. Steve Fletcher of Marion, Ky. was driving a tractor and trailer which was west bound on U.S. 62 in the area of the collision scene. Mr. Fletcher stated that he was attempting to slow and stop for the collision scene when he lost control of his tractor. The tractor began to skid into the east bound lane that Mr. Davenport was traveling in. The tractor hit Mr. Davenport's vehicle on the drivers' side and caused the van to skid off the right shoulder of U.S. 62 and stop in an abandoned parking lot in Suwanee. Mr. Davenport and his passengers were transported to Western Baptist Hospital with minor injuries. Mr. Fletcher did not receive any injuries as a result of the collision. Kentucky State Police were assisted at the scene by the Lyon County Sheriff Office and the Lyon County.
