(Lexington, Ky.) -- On Wednesday, December 2, the Governor's Impaired Driving Enforcement Awards Ceremony was held at the Embassy Suites in Lexington. Law enforcement officers, agencies, and individuals from across the state were recognized for their outstanding achievements.

Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Mike Hamblin received two awards for his achievements in impaired driving enforcement. Officer Hamblin was recognized as being the officer with the highest number of DUI arrests for Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement's East Troop. For the time period of October 1st, 2008 through September 30th, 2009, Officer Hamblin arrested 117 impaired drivers. Officer Hamblin was also recognized for having the second highest DUI arrests among all Kentucky State Police troopers and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officers across the state. Officer Hamblin began his career with Commercial Vehicle Enforcement in 2007. He is assigned to CVE Region 4.
