Injury Traffic Collision on I-75 in Laurel County

(London, Ky.) - On Monday, February 23, 2009 the Kentucky State Police Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement responded to a traffic crash, with injury, on I-75 at the 29 mile marker exit ramp.
Upon arrival CVE Officer Mike Hamblin determined that a 2004, silver, Honda Civic, driven by Barbara J. Peyton, 48, of Ontario, Canada was southbound on I-75 when it struck a 1999, maroon, Freightliner tractor/trailer, driven by Ronnie Marriott, 50, of Ekron, KY, in the rear.
Ms. Peyton and her passengers, Yvonne Howes, 33, of Ontario and Kathy Henderson, 54, also of Ontario, were transported to the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, KY for treatment of their injuries.
Mr. Marriott was not injured.
No drug or alcohol use is suspected and seatbelts were in use at the time of the crash.
Officer Hamblin is the lead investigator and is assisted at the scene the Laurel County Sheriff's Office and the Laurel County EMS.
