Cadets shall be issued books and supplies by the Academy for use in their training. However, cadets may be required to supply specific items for training. Each cadet shall be responsible for the books and their condition.
Cadets shall at all times protect and maintain the Academy building, equipment, and grounds. Any damage, whether accidental, negligent, or willful, is to be reported immediately to a member of the Academy staff. (5 Demerits)
When obtaining any recreation equipment from the Academy, cadets shall assume full responsibility for its care and return. (3 Demerits)
Cadets shall be issued the State Police uniform and shall be responsible for keeping it clean, well pressed, and in serviceable condition at all times. (5 Demerits)
When issued firearms, cadets shall follow all instructions for care, use, and safety given them by the firearms officer. Cadets will not have personal firearms with them while at the Academy or in their vehicles. No Cadet shall have a loaded firearm in his/her possession on the Academy grounds at any time. No cadets shall possess live rounds outside of the range area. (5 Demerits)
No Cadet shall operate any vehicle owned by the Kentucky State Police until he/she has furnished the proper proof of having required insurance to the staff. Cadets shall follow all instructions for care, use and safety of vehicles given them by the staff.
No issued police equipment, uniform articles, or State Police property of any kind shall be removed from the Academy premises unless prior approval is given by a member of the Academy staff. (5 Demerits)
All cadets shall have prescribed uniforms and equipment available at the Academy during the training period and be able to account for said items. (5 demerits)
