Appalachia Narcotics Investigations Arrests Middlesboro Man for Drug Trafficking

MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (March 24, 2017) – After several months of investigation into drug trafficking in Bell County, Det. Doug Jordan with Appalachia Narcotics Investigations (ANI) has arrested Alphaeas Witherspoon, 33, on six felony counts of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance.
A search warrant was performed at Witherspoon’s residence in Middlesboro where cash, guns and drugs were seized. Witherspoon was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center. More arrests stemming from this investigation are anticipated.
ANI was assisted in the arrest by the Middlesboro Police Department, Bell County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police Post 10 Drug Interdiction Team.
ANI is a multi-agency drug investigations unit consisting of detectives from the Kentucky State Police, Bell County Sheriff’s Office, Harlan County Sheriff’s Office and Pineville Police Department.
