KSP Charges Fleming County Man For Possession And Distribution Of Child Pornography

(Flemingsburg, Ky.) - On July 22, 2014, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by KSP Post 8-Morehead, arrested Shawn Tumey, 21, for charges related to possession and distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Tumey was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant in the Rucker Street community of Flemingsburg. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP's forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Tumey is currently charged with one count of possession and 19 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Tumey was lodged in the Mason County Detention Center.
