Date of News Release: 04/07/2014
(Middlesboro, Ky.) -- On April 4, 2014 at approximately 11:50 a.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by troopers from KSP Post 10 in Harlan, arrested Claude Robinson, 63, for charges related to child pornography. Robinson is charged with 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor-1st offense and five counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.
This arrest was the result of an ongoing Internet Crimes Against Children investigation by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch. Detectives began investigating in October of 2013 after they discovered a suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online. The majority of the images depicted the sexual abuse of children who were less than 10 years of age.
Following the execution of a search warrant at his residence in the Middlesboro community, Robinson was placed under arrest and transported to the Bell Co. Detention Center where he is currently being held on a $50,000 cash bond. A full forensic examination of the evidence is pending.
The investigation is ongoing by Det. Josh Lawson.
