KSP Charges Lewis County Man With Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography

(Tollesboro, Ky.) - On Jan. 27, 2014, at approximately 4:44 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by troopers from KSP Post 8 in Morehead and an agent from the Dept. of Homeland Security, arrested Charles Harrington, 49, of Tollesboro, Ky., on charges related to possession and distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.
Harrington was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch and Homeland Security Investigations began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Harrington's residence in the evening hours of Jan. 27, 2014. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP's forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.
Harrington is currently charged with multiple counts of possession and distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. He was lodged in the Lewis County Detention Center.
