Fatal Collision in Clark County

(FRANKFORT, KY.) - On Tuesday, January 22, 2013, the Kentucky State Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on I-64 eastbound in Clark County near mile marker 99 involving an off-duty Kentucky State Police Trooper. At approximately 7:30 p.m., Trooper Anson Blake Tribby, age 25, of Mt. Sterling, Ky, was driving his personal, mid-sized, 1999 Toyota pickup truck when he was involved in a collision with a flatbed wrecker operated by John Masterson, age 54, of Winchester, Ky.
Trooper Tribby was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clark County Coroner. Trooper Tribby was a two-and-a-half year veteran with the Kentucky State Police and was assigned to the Morehead Post.
The Kentucky State Police were assisted by the Clark County Sheriff's Office, Coroner, Fire and Rescue and the Kentucky Incident Management Team.
The collision remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
