KSP Raffle Supports Camp For Kids

(Frankfort, Ky.) -- Tickets are still available for the Kentucky State Police Trooper Island fund-raising raffle, which features a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, a classic 60s muscle car updated for the 21st Century. Located on Dale Hollow Lake in Clinton County, Trooper Island is a free summer camp for underprivileged boys and girls age 10-12. It is financed entirely by donations, no public funds are used. Profits from the raffle will be used to replace cafeteria equipment, add playground equipment and maintain the swimming pool. Each year, the camp hosts approximately 700 children, providing good food, fresh air, recreation, guidance and structured, esteem-building activities designed to build good citizenship and positive relationships with law enforcement officers. Tickets are $10 each and are available from any KSP post or by sending a check for $10 per ticket and a stamped, self-addressed envelope to: Kentucky State Police, Public Affairs Branch, 919 Versailles Rd., Frankfort, KY 40601. Checks should be made out to Trooper Island. Please include area code and phone number. Only 20,000 tickets will be sold. The winning ticket will be drawn on August 29 at the Kentucky State Fair. Ticket holders do not have to be present at the drawing to win. Raffle winner is responsible for all tax and license fees.
