Prohibited Use of Electronic Communication System to Procure a Minor/Peace Officer/ Sex Offense

(Frankfort, KY) - On October 10, 2007 The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Section / ICAC Task Force, executed a search warrant at the residence of Timothy S. Richerson in Green County, KY. This was the result of an internet investigation that began on 10-09-2007 when Detectives from Richmond Police Department contacted the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Section / Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force for assistance. Richmond Police Department alleged that the suspect travelled from Greensburg, KY to Richmond, KY where he had sexual contact with a juvenile. The Electronic Crime Section recovered evidence which led to Detective Clyde Bertram obtaining an arrest warrant and arresting the suspect Timothy Scott Richerson, age 39. Richerson was charged with Prohibited Use of Electronic Communication System to Procure Minor / Sex Offense.
Detective Bertram was assisted by Detective William Lindon- KSP Electronic Crime Section, Trooper David Long - KSP Post 15 and Detective Eric Long- Richmond Police Department.
Investigation is ongoing.
