Grant County Crash Update-Indictment Warrants Served

(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -On Wednesday, July 25, 2007, the Kentucky State Police executed indictment warrants on Larry E. "Buddy" Carey, 38 yoa of Dry Ridge, regarding a two vehicle crash that occurred on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, on Warsaw Road five (5) miles west of Dry Ridge in Grant County.

Carey was arrested at 1:30 PM EDT and charged with Assault First Degree (two counts), Wanton Endangerment First Degree (two counts), DUI-Aggravating Circumstances First Offense, and No Insurance as a result of indictments issued by the Grant County Grand Jury. Carey was lodged in the Grant County Detention Center in lieu of a $ 50,000 cash bond.

Carey, a 12 year veteran of the Kentucky State Police, was off-duty and in his personal vehicle at the time of the crash. Carey has been suspended from duty, without pay, pending both criminal and administrative investigations.

The investigation into the crash is continuing.
