Kentucky State Police Announces Civilian Employee Of The Year And Other Support Personnel Awards
Date of News Release: 10/04/2006
(LOUISVILLE, KY) --The Kentucky State Police (KSP) honored 23 of its most outstanding civilian employees at a special ceremony held today at the Galt House in Louisville. Gen. Norman Arflack, Secretary of the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, joined Kentucky State Police Commissioner Jack Adams in presenting the awards.
Frankfort resident Dorothy Luckett, representing the Criminal Identification and Records Branch, was honored as the KSP Civilian Employee of the Year. She also received the Records Technical Support Service Award. A 29-year veteran of the agency, Luckett is a native of Charlestown, Maryland, and has worked for Kentucky State Government for 33 and a half years.
Luckett currently serves as program coordinator for the Uniform Crime Reporting Section within the Criminal Identification and Records Branch. Branch Commander Capt. C.L. Cross nominated Luckett for the award.
"Without question, Ms. Luckett is known throughout the state' law enforcement community as the expert in crime reporting," said Cross. "Her dedication and professionalism are borne out by numerous letters, emails and phone calls from around the state praising her responsiveness and efficiency. She was instrumental in production of this year's issue of the Crime in Kentucky statistical fact book, which is published by this branch and widely used throughout the state. Ms. Luckett has earned this recognition for her high level of integrity and professionalism."
"Our civilian employees make a significant contribution to achieving our mission of protecting the citizens of Kentucky," noted Commissioner Adams. "Troopers in the field rely on their dedication and expertise on a daily basis. On behalf of Gov. Fletcher, Gen. Arflack and the KSP command staff, I extend my personal appreciation to those individuals honored here today, and all agency employees, who strive to perform their duties with professionalism and integrity. They exemplify the standards held in highest regard by the Kentucky State Police."
