Date of News Release: 05/31/2006
FRANKFORT, Ky. - A mobile substance abuse trailer, unique to the state, will be unveiled at 2:30 p.m. (EDT), Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Kentucky State Police (KSP) Headquarters, 919 Versailles Road in Frankfort.
Lt. Governor Steve Pence, who also is secretary of the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, KSP Commissioner Mark L. Miller, and Teresa Barton, executive director of the state's Office of Drug Control Policy, will make brief remarks before introducing the trailer.
News organizations are invited to tour the exhibit and interview seventh-grade students from Frankfort Independent Schools' Second Street School, who will explore the display. Among the exhibit's features are a mock methamphetamine lab and marijuana grow, plus a video presentation of actual methamphetamine users and video loop of drug messages.
