KSP Trooper Dies of Natural Causes

(FRANKFORT, Ky.) - The Kentucky State Police announces the sudden loss of one of its troopers in southeastern Kentucky. Trooper Barry Kevin Knuckles, 39, of Pineville, passed away on June 26 as the result of a heart attack while off duty.
"The Kentucky State Police family mourns the loss of one of its own," said KSP Commissioner Mark L. Miller. "A 12-year veteran of the agency, Trooper Knuckles was a tremendous asset to Post 10 in Harlan throughout his career. His work as a road trooper in Bell County is a tribute to his dedication to law enforcement and service to the citizens of Kentucky. His contributions will be greatly missed. On behalf of the agency, I extend sincere condolences to his wife, Shari, his daughters, Sophia, Alexandria and Victoria, and all of his family and friends."
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, June 29 at Arnette Steele Funeral Home in Pineville. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, June 30 at the First Baptist Church in Pineville.
