Elizabethtown Company Donating Boat to Trooper Island

Date of Release: 01/24/05

(FRANKFORT, Ky.) - WASSERcraft Marine Dynamics Inc. will present a new boat to Lt. Governor Stephen B. Pence and Kentucky State Police Commissioner Mark L. Miller on Monday, Jan. 24, at 5:30 p.m. at the Louisville Sport, Boat and Vacation Show located at Booth 314 in the East Wing of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center.

Lt. Governor Pence will accept the boat from WASSERcraft, a new Elizabethtown boat company, on behalf of the Trooper Island Board of Directors. Trooper Island, a non-profit entity operated by the Kentucky State Police, runs free weeklong summer camps for children ages 10-12. The camping program, which includes safe boating practices, is designed to help children develop positive self-images through physical activity and classroom study.

Established in 1965, Trooper Island celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
