Corvette Photo Release

Date of Release: 01/21/05

A Image of the Corvette Photo Release(FRANKFORT, Ky.) - General Motors and the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky. have donated a blue 1997 Corvette Coupe to the Kentucky State Police for anti-theft training purposes. Don Farrell, chief financial officer for the GM Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, and Wendell Strode, executive director of the Corvette Museum, recently presented the vehicle to KSP representatives Maj. Mike Sapp, Capt. Jeff Mayberry, Sgt. Bob Motley and Det. Bill Riley. The car will be used to provide hands-on instruction in identifying and recovering stolen vehicles and vehicle parts. Det. Riley, of KSP's Lexington-based vehicle identification section, says the Corvette will be modified so that officers can get a better look at internal car parts. "This will enhance our teaching efforts and contribute greatly to the recovery of stolen vehicles in Kentucky," says Riley.
