Fire and Death Investigation in Boyd County

(Ashland, Kentucky) - Kentucky State Police in Ashland is investigating an early morning blaze that destroyed a home and caused the deaths of two subjects at the 600 block of 10th Street in Catlettsburg, Ky. The fire started at the residence of Phillip and Shaundra Booth.When fire-fighters arrived on scene, the house was fully engulfed in flames. Two children ages 4 and 8 were able to escape from the residence but were taken to Kings Daughter´s Medical Center for minor injuries they received from the fire. Three fireman were also injured while trying to extinguish the fire and were taken to KDMC for treatment. Upon investigation of the scene, it was determined foul play is suspected in the death of the two subjects found inside. Cause of death is still pending and positive identification of the deceased is still undetermined pending an autopsy from the state medical examiner´s office which is scheduled for today. Two suspects have been taken into custody and both charged with two counts of Murder and one count of Arson 1st degree in connection with the fire.
